Interviewer: Welcome to our artists this evening, how are you Joanne, Frank and Lennie.TheArtists: Good thanks, great - thanks for having us. Interviewer: Kaitie asks: I would like to know how you get into the singing business. I am a talented singer and I would like to have some sort of contract! What do I do? Any Tips? Or Encouragement?I am a 13 year old female. ! TheArtists: Basically, its important to finish your education. It is a lot of hard work - get as much exposure as possible, singing lessons, participating in as many musical activities as possible. Interviewer: two asks: what is joanne's background? TheArtists: South African - I lived in London for 10 years and then came to Australia. Interviewer: DJ_Fleur asks: where do u go to get all your recording things? do u need to pay alot of money? TheArtists: We are fortunate to have our own recording studio, we can record any time we like - it involves quite a lot of money - but there are places you can do it cheaply. Interviewer: Kaitie asks: Hey Joanne! I simply love your singing. You are great! I have listened to all your songs! Congratulations on such a fine success in music! TheArtists: Oh, thank you very very much. Interviewer: jop asks: this business obviously isn't all glamour, it is a lot of hard work, is there anything you hate about showbiz? TheArtists: 6am flights, not really .... life is too short to hate anything..... we enjoy it - its fun and we love what we do. Interviewer: What asks: I am trying out for STARSTRUCK tommorow any tips? TheArtists: Go into it confidently, give it your best shot, enjoy it and secondly if you get into the show say hello to my brother J. Interviewer: tommy_girl_fever asks: are u guys really close friends TheArtists: No...... Yeh we are.... we are very family orientated. TheArtists: Our parents would not let us wear them, we will on the next show . Interviewer: BLUe7 asks: How long All together does it take to fully complete and record a record? TheArtists: Each song varies - the new single took us about two days to record vocals and a week to complete and mix. Interviewer: Eric_Cool asks: Joanne, I like to know how does it feel to win a Aria award ? TheArtists: Unbelieveable, like no other feeling I have felt before. Interviewer: Fordman asks: How did ilanda get its name? TheArtists: We put our heads together and decided to get a name that represented us the best for obvious reasons. TheArtists: Because we are islanders we have to sing for our suppers.. Interviewer: Fairy_Chick2000 asks: Hello what was it like to perform at the house of hits ? TheArtists: It was a buzz, we got to meet Regurgitator - they were nice. Cool to sing and heaps of people,. Interviewer: JoanneIsGrouse asks: Does Joanna have any album or studio work planned? TheArtists: Yes, my first album is called Do not disturb , due out mid 2000. Interviewer: How do you feel about having your first album out ? TheArtists: New albums are being released this year, Experience and Do not Disturb - we are excited and pleased. both of us. Interviewer: Miss_asparagus asks: Interviewer: -What are your faviroute foods? TheArtists: Kentucky Fried Chicken, MacDonalds, we all love food, L&P - we love it all. Interviewer: Krayzie asks: who are your favorite recording artists? TheArtists: We all like the same artists ; New Edition, Earth Wind and Fire, Mariah Carey, Will Smith. Interviewer: popboyfan asks: Interviewer: I would like to say hi and ask Joanne if her mum is or was a singer in melbourne, she reminds my mum of a performer she once knew TheArtists: My mother can't sing - musical instruments great, but can't sing. Interviewer: hey asks: when you have colds can you still sing at you high standards? TheArtists: No can't sing quite as well - is important to take care of ourselves. Interviewer: andreaj asks: have you guyz ever thought of what your life would be like if you's hadent became pop stars? TheArtists: Yes, I would be part-owner of a place called microsoft and would buy half of SA - Joanne would be Frank's best friend. Interviewer: Badtz-Maru asks: do you write all your music? TheArtists: Yes we do, we write, produce, have a say in all songs we write - it is a group effort. Interviewer: hey asks: do you ever get nerves when you go out on stage? TheArtists: We used to, but now it's not quite so bad... we feel very comfportable on stage. Interviewer: chillipie asks: Do you miss your family ? TheArtists: No, cause I still live at home (joanne) - but the guys do miss theirs. Interviewer: BLUe7 asks: what kind off recording desks do you remember using? TheArtists: We are not sure. Interviewer: aNNaBanaNah asks: Is fame and fortune wat u expected? TheArtists: We are still expecting it. Interviewer: DJ_Fleur asks: u guys r real hot here. how did u guys first start off? TheArtists: Firtstly thanks for thinking we are hot. We pretty much started in the church choir and then the music pop scene. Joannes story is similar. Interviewer: popboyfan asks: Ilanda do you have a release date for your new album yet I checked the webpage and it said around april is that true? TheArtists: Yes that is - that is what we are aiming for: Islander.com and Joannebz.com. Interviewer: jacinta01 asks: ilanda - When is EXPERIENCE coming out?!?!?! TheArtists: Check the web site and it will be updated when an album is due out. Interviewer: budsy asks: hey illanda i really love your song tasty where did the idea come from? TheArtists: It was an idea formed from the whole band and we chipped away and that's what we got. Interviewer: Kaitie asks: Do you always get recognised in public? Do people want photos and autographs and stuff? TheArtists: Yeh we do, especially when the whole band is walking around together... They want autographs etc. Interviewer: Soundmachine asks: Surely there's up and downs in the showbusinness.........other than Music, what else do you do in life? TheArtists: Joanne would like to be involved in the music industry, we all would like to be involved in the business still. Interviewer: mowergirl asks: what country do like like seeing the most when you are traveling??? TheArtists: The country side - Australia is very big, we see something new every time. Interviewer: TheNextDiva asks: did u take vocal lessons to acheive your vocals as they are now or were u born with that great voice? TheArtists: For all of us, God given talent and have worked on all our lives - it has developed as we got older. Interviewer: squish asks: I'm currently doing my Preliminary HSC course and i'm wondering what would be a really good song to sing for my music exams ? TheArtists: IT depends on your vocal range, surely your teacher will tell you what they are expecting - what suits your range. TheArtists: To a certain extent we have to behave ourselves, we are role models to a certain extent. Interviewer: Kaitie asks: How old are all of you? Sorry, I'm not trying to pry into your private lives!Just a question ? TheArtists: We range from 24 to 28 and Joanne is 21. Interviewer: Quiksilver asks: Iland do u follow Aukland Warriors or are u mostly a Union supporter ? TheArtists: We are big rugby league supporters. Auckland Warriors too. Melbourne Storm supporters as weell. And the All Blacks. Interviewer: interveiwer asks: Joanne, do you have anytime to go out with your friends? TheArtists: Yes I do actually. But normally stay at home anc chille. Interviewer: BeLMoRe asks: Where aboutz do you guyz live right now ? Or do u move around alot? TheArtists: We are all in Melbourne living there. Interviewer: no1Fan asks: joanne, and everyone, will you be spending September here in Sydney during the Olympics? TheArtists: I think (joanne) having people judge you cause you were on tv, we are all human at the end of the day. A lesson learnt to use what you have to the best. TheArtists: It was due to the fact that we really wanted to explore other avenues, form our own production team, we wanted to do it ... we haven't look ed back since. TheArtists: I was approached to do the cover and decidee it would good to go with. Interviewer: pot asks: ilanda :how did your group form? TheArtists: We pretty much all grew up together and moved to Melbourne 12 years ago. Got together in Church and thes rest is history. Interviewer: squish asks: what does illanda think of other Australian boy bands like Human Nature, CDB, Taxiride, Savage Garden etc.....??? TheArtists: Yeah, they are cool, we are big fans and we get to work with them too. We support them wholeheartedly. Interviewer: Quiksilver asks: Joanne do u have a b/f? or are thinking of getting married in the near future? TheArtists: One day I would like to get married.... Interviewer: solar asks: sometimes do u wish that u never picked this career ? TheArtists: Never - w4e are enjoying it way too much. Interviewer: Empro asks: Do you find it annoying that people in the industry don't take you seriously and just shrug you off as one hit wonders? TheArtists: We when we get the one hit we will answer that question. Interviewer: AMO asks: have you ever had any really weird fans? TheArtists: Yes, we have had a few. Interviewer: firestarter asks: do you want to tour in your 60's like the rolling stones or gracefully retire from that scene at a decent age??? TheArtists: We definitely want the rolling stones bank account but probably will move into other areas. could keep going. Interviewer: Empro asks: What was it like the first time a fan wanted an autograph? TheArtists: It felt like a buzz - we double checked with the fan - it was cool. TheArtists: I never worked with Josh Abrahams - Interviewer: Melody-Louise asks: if you could take one person to a deserted island with you, who would it be?
