SELENA WEEKLEY

Edited transcript of the Live Chat with Selena Weekley on Wednesday, March 28th 2001

Interviewer: Tonight we are talking to Selena Weekly from scream test. Hi Selena how are you?
Selena Weekley: I'm very well thank you

Interviewer: What is your involvement in the show?
Selena Weekley: I was a contestant in the 5th episode and went on to the grand final.

Interviewer: scullyACT: Selena, have you become more psychic since you were on Scream Test?
Selena Weekley: I've definitely become more aware of ... I guess presences and things, I’m much more aware that there is something "out there".

Interviewer: AeonFlux: hello Selena, what did you find the most disturbing experience?
Selena Weekley: well I guess I would have to say you will have to wait and see, next weeks episode will show two very disturbing experiences, I couldn't choose between the two of them

Interviewer: mal888: What was the scariest area for you. Why?
Selena Weekley: I found the Cell Block the scariest but the morgue and the kitchen area of the dining room was very scary too.

Interviewer: Bob_Smith: Selena, do you feel the ghosts before you see or hear them?
Selena Weekley: no... I sensed them, I didn't feel them I definitely sensed them. It's really hard to explain but it’s a lot to do with your own body and how your body is affected, I guess that’s how you sense they are around.

Interviewer: Cera: Congratulations, you are extremely brave...Do you believe there were more than just crew effects at work?
Selena Weekley: well I should say we were not aware there were going to be ANY crew effects, we were kept in the dark on that fact and we thought it was going to be all real I totally believed it was all real.

Interviewer: Karimun555: Selena: Did U believe before going on the show?
Selena Weekley: Yes, I believed but I guess I was a tad sceptical because I had no experience before the show, but I wanted to believe

Interviewer: shmango: do you wish to continue this adventure further by visiting other haunted places?
Selena Weekley: Well funny you should ask that, the five of us are planning on going back to the quarantine station for a revisit and I’m very nervous about that but I think I need to go back to put a few things to rest.

Interviewer: Shell: What made you want to go on the show?
Selena Weekley: I have no idea *laughs* I certainly didn't know what was in for me, I had no idea what was going to happen

Interviewer: Imposter: Selena was there times when u just wanted to run away??
Selena Weekley: absabloodlylootly but I was even too scared to run away, I was just sooooooo scared.

Interviewer: perko: hi selena....did you actually watch the show tonight?? If so did it send chills down your spine???
Selena Weekley: Yes I have watched every episode, and when tonight’s one started (the quarantine part) I was reliving it all, it was horrible.

Interviewer: chanelle: Selena, did u feel a connection with any of the ghosts?
Selena Weekley: Ummm... lets see... which ghosts... yeah I did, I think there were a couple of time I thought I was with little kids that will be shown in next weeks episode, I wasn't scared with the little kids, I felt comfortable around them. Maybe because I love kids.

Interviewer: mal888: Why were you attracted to that door4 in the morgue??
Selena Weekley: I knew someone would ask that.. *Laughs* that is totally unexplainable, I have no idea but it was like I had to got there, there was definitely something in there and it was almost like I was being pulled to it and had no choice and I was really surprised when I realized that wasn't the room I was suppose to go to. When I watched it on TV, I was really embarrassed about how I was talking to the ghost it was really weird.

Interviewer: scullyACT: Did you expect to win at the hospital?
Selena Weekley: No, I knew that I had done all the challenges but 1 and I thought I handled the camera pretty well but to be honest I was expecting everyone else to do well so I thought that one slip up would cost me.

Interviewer: MiSh_MoSh: do u think u will win the Screamtest??? Who r your main threats to u???
Selena Weekley: I have no idea who will win. I would be lying if I said I wasn't hoping to win, but all 5 of us have gotten really close and I will honestly be happy whoever wins.

Interviewer: living_dead_girl_oz: What was your first impressions, when entering your first room? Did you think you made the wrong choice by coming on the show?
Selena Weekley: It hit me that it was much scarier than I thought it would be it hit me that I was completely along, in the dark and that I had to stay in there by myself that was like, I had to call up some courage from somewhere, I don't know where.

Interviewer: di54: Selena do you get a kind of mental message, or more feelings coming through, do you also smell different scents, feel physical differences that you cannot explain and yet know in yourself what they mean?
Selena Weekley: I’ve always been a very intuitive person and have strong gut feelings and instinctual reactions to things, its more gut feeling. I do smell different smells and I feel hot and cold, sometimes like I can't breathe very well, sometimes I sweat, and I guess you can just, well any intelligent person could work out what that means, its mostly gut feeling

Interviewer: AeonFlux: did you feel that anything may have followed you home?
Selena Weekley: I did after the hospital, the first episode, for about 2-3 days my bedroom and bathroom doors were creaking and I just had a strange feeling I wasn't alone, but it was only for a few days, and then I spoke someone at Beyond about it and it went away.

Interviewer: Joshyb: Selena, once the show was over, did you have any sleepless nights ?
Selena Weekley: I got home at 6 am the next day and my mum tells the story on how I was as white as a ghost, shaking and white. We were instructed to have a shower as soon as we got home, and then I went straight to bed, I didn't sleep for hours, when I did get to sleep it was really restless and it was like that for a few nights afterwards I didn't have any nightmares it was just restless sleeps.

Interviewer: JP: Did you find the presences threatening or did you feel more sympathetic to them?
Selena Weekley: it depended on where I was, like I said, some places I went I felt there were children with me and I wasn't threatened at all other places I heard singing and I wasn't threatened there either but there were definitely places as well that I felt extremely threatened.

Interviewer: Peachesoz: Selena do you get any psychic feelings towards people you meet???:-)
Selena Weekley: Yes, its related to first impressions, I guess everyone gets that when they meet someone new, my first impressions are very strong, I don't know if you would call that psychic or instinctual I know when I meet people I know if I’m going to get on with them or no, maybe its like that for everyone though.

Interviewer: metho: allot of people say that you are wimps for the way you react on the show but I am sure everyone else would react in the same way, what would you say to them?
Selena Weekley: YOU WEREN'T THERE

Interviewer: Khaibit: Hello Selena, I was just wondering if you had any background in parapsychology/paranormal phenomena, or was the show a first for you?
Selena Weekley: Yes it was a first, I have a background in psychology but no psychic experiences.

Interviewer: danmelb25: Selena - well done on the show. Has this changed your views on religion at all?
Selena Weekley: No, I’m not an overly religious person, I have my beliefs but not overly I believe you have experiences after you die, I believe those who have unfinished business don't really leave, they don’t' move onto the next stage.

Interviewer: Bronzetiger: Do you think that some of the 'presences' you felt might have been your mind playing tricks on you? ;o)
Selena Weekley: I was running on pure adrenalin and I was scared out of my brain, it is possible because my mind was working overtime that they were playing some tricks, but that is not to take away from what was really going on.

Interviewer: _7of9_: Selena: Are you now friends with the other contestants? Have you as a group thought about leading ghost tours of your own? =)
Selena Weekley: yep, they are mates, good mates, we have been in touch a few times since it was all in the can and we do plan to meet up. We would like to be together to watch next week’s episode I think. If we can't do that we will definitely be meeting up soon.

Interviewer: angel_1: Why do you think we get so scared of ghosts when you *know* they can't possibly harm you?
Selena Weekley: because we don't really know that there is not definite knowledge about them how can we know they can't hurt us I know Debbie has had bad experiences with ghosts

Interviewer: scullyACT: In your opinion, are ghosts innocent and misunderstood or purposely trying to scare people?
Selena Weekley: it depends on what their unfinished business is and I guess what kind of person they were in life I know of some ghosts that are perfectly friendly and harmless and yet there are others that are threatening and scary

Interviewer: ladybeatle: Did it help knowing the crew was near by?
Selena Weekley: I think that was my saving grace *laughs* I had that always in the back of my mind I would have honestly curled up in a corner and died if I hadn't have know they were going to get me out of there

Interviewer: married_pagans: Selena, we know the show is edited for television and not everything gets shown, was there anything from the shows you were in that scared you the most that did not make the show?
Selena Weekley: there has been heaps that didn't make the show, for instance after my conversation at the toilet door I went on to the morgue at the hospital and none of that was shown at all.

Interviewer: mal888: The music that was heard towards the end of the show sounded quite muffled. Did the producers find where it came from? Was anyone able to make the sound out?
Selena Weekley: I never found out about the music because we were all separated and had no contact with each other so the first I saw was the same as everyone else on TV

Interviewer: ginooska: Have you heard of any of the contestants bringing the ghosts back home with them.
Selena Weekley: Yes, Debbie definitely took someone home from Maitland Jail, apart from that I only know of my own experience.

Interviewer: monstershouter: Selena, have you ever "seen" anything in a "regular" place? (Not a known haunting.)
Selena Weekley: Not seen, but there have been times when I have felt presences I guess you would call them or times like when someone walks over your grave.

Interviewer: Cairo-Net: Was their anything you wanted to say "On-Air" about your experience, but didn’t get the chance?
Selena Weekley: just that it was so mind blowingly different from anything I had ever experienced in my whole life I think I was as scared as I will ever be and I’ve learnt a lot from it about myself, my tolerance levels, I think I’ve become stronger and I’m glad I did it *laughs* and my mind is so much more open to the paranormal.

Interviewer: dhiannon: Selena what would you say to people who are thinking of becoming a contestant if there was another series??
Selena Weekley: no chickens allowed, just make sure that you realize the full extend of what your getting yourself into. It will be the scariest night of your life, without a doubt the way they make it look on TV doesn't capture just how scary it was for us

Interviewer: Thanks for your time Selena, do you have any final comments for the fans of scream test?
Selena Weekley: Vote for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee *laughs* but seriously, thanks everybody for watching and sharing our experience and I hope that you guys all open your minds as much as we have.
