If you are on a BigPond Liberty plan, once you reach your usage allowance, the speed of your service will slow to 64kbps until your new billing cycle starts.
# BigPond Turbo ADSL: Speeds are theoretical network maximum speeds. Actual customer speeds are less due to a number of factors including network configuration, line quality & length, exchange type, member premises interference, traffic and hardware and software.
BigPond Elite ADSL: 20000kbps plans not available to all customers or in all areas. The 20000kbps and 8000kbps speeds are based on Telstra tests. Your actual speeds may vary due to factors eg. network configuration, line quality & length, your exchange, your location, internet traffic, your equipment/software. About 70% of customers on the 8000kbps plan can access speeds around 6Mbps or more. About 50% of customers on the 20000kbps plan can access speeds around 10Mbps or more. With a Home Network Gateway, actual downloads speeds are slower than our top speed.
* Monthly usage allowance means combined upload and download data transfer. 1 GB = 1000MB. Unused usage allowance is forfeited each month. Additional usage charged at $0.15/MB and is capped at $300 from the first bill cycle on or after 29th of November 2009. No additional usage charges apply to BigPond Liberty plans.

Cancellation and reconnection
Cancellation
If you cancel your BigPond ADSL Broadband service, the cancellation fee is $360 pro rated for the months remaining on your contract term.
For example, a BigPond Member who cancels their contract 9 months into a 12 month contract may have to pay a termination fee of $360 x 3/12 (where 3 is the number of months left to run on the contract, divided by 12 months) = $90.

Reconnection
There is a standard $55 fee to reconnect your BigPond ADSL Broadband service if it is disconnected due to non-payment, or if you move house. If the cabling on your existing connection requires more than 15 minutes work to restore, you will also be charged for the extra work as per our Standard Fee for Service - $30.00 per 15 minutes, or part thereof.
The total fee for a reconnection (including the $55 fee and any service charges) will not exceed your initial installation fee.
If you choose our self-install option but then find you need a BigPond Technician to assist, you may be charged an additional $189 for the service call.
