# ADSL: Speeds are theoretical network maximum speeds. Actual customer speeds are less due to a number of factors including network configuration, line quality & length, exchange type, member premises interference, traffic and hardware and software.
ADSL2+: Your actual speeds may vary due to factors eg. network configuration, line quality & length, your exchange, your location, internet traffic, your equipment/software. With a Home Network Gateway, actual downloads speeds are slower than our top speed.

Transfer to BigPond FREE of charge if you already have ADSL broadband with another service provider. Make the switch to BigPond with Rapid Transfer.

Cancellation and reconnection
Cancellation
If you cancel your BigPond ADSL Broadband service, the cancellation fee is $360 pro rated for the months remaining on your contract term.
For example, a BigPond Member who cancels their contract 9 months into a 12 month contract may have to pay a termination fee of $360 x 3/12 (where 3 is the number of months left to run on the contract, divided by 12 months) = $90.

Reconnection
There is a standard $55 fee to reconnect your BigPond ADSL Broadband service if it is disconnected due to non-payment, or if you move house. If the cabling on your existing connection requires more than 15 minutes work to restore, you will also be charged for the extra work as per our Standard Fee for Service - $30.00 per 15 minutes, or part thereof.
The total fee for a reconnection (including the $55 fee and any service charges) will not exceed your initial installation fee.
If you choose our self-install option but then find you need a BigPond Technician to assist, you may be charged an additional $189 for the service call.

Our Customer Terms for BigPond ADSL

Usage means monthly combined upload and download data transfer 1 Gigabyte = 1000 Megabytes. Unused usage allowance forfeited each month.
The Copyright Act protects materials such as films, music, books and computer programs. It is an infringement of copyright to download, copy, share or distribute such materials unless it is expressly permitted by the Copyright Act or you have the permission of the copyright owner. You must not use BigPond services to do any of these things.
