National Summary:
Strong southwesterly winds across the southeast are generating scattered showers and light alpine snow. A trough is triggering light, patchy rain over northern and inland parts of WA. A high in the Bight is keeping the rest of the country dry and settled.
The polar jet has pushed north over southeastern Australia, allowing cold air to filter through NSW. The jets are divergent in the west, allowing a region of high pressure to develop.
